Dawn Fread

Dawn Fread joined Altra in 2014. After managing the core conversion, she created a Project Management Office (PMO) that then led to innovation and strategy development. Dawn‘s expertise includes:
- Corporate Strategy: Plan, design and facilitate annual executive planning sessions. Developing focus for planning sessions with relevant content is critical. Examples of content include simplifications, talent management and Digital Transformation/Automation.
- Project Management Office (PMO): Developed project management discipline which includes implementing the overall process, developed forms and partnered with third party vendor to write custom software. Continue to build ROI stories to ensure projects strategically move the organization forward and keep Altra a leader in the financial industry.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with business units to maximize functionality of existing software systems, increase efficiency with current processes, and automate manual processes based on ROI.
- Innovation: Developed innovation programs to expand innovation culture within the organization. Designed innovation software that invite all staff to submit ideas that are documented from ideation phase through implementation.
- Robotics Process Automation (RPA): Established RPA discipline to automate mundane tasks and improve operational efficiency for staff, giving staff ability to focus on more complex work.
- Product Development: Elicit business requirements for new products, determine minimal viable product (MVP) and partner with third parties to develop. Examples include Member Relationship Management (MRM), Online Account Opening (OAO), Consumer Lending Digital Platform and Member Growth Module (MGM). Incorporate ongoing enhancements into the products.
- Core Software Administration: Successfully led the $8 million core conversion project and established processes to ensure sustainability. Incorporates enhancements to ensure the core software functionality is being utilized to its full potential. Strategically partner with vendor.

Josh Hamit joined Altra in 2016. Josh spearheaded the technology used in automation and digital transformation that has played a crucial role in helping Altra grow from $1.2B assets in 2016 to over $2.8B in assets in 2024. Josh’s expertise includes:
- Strategy Development: Ensuring strategic alignment between the business and IT and increasing transparency of IT expenditures and investments.
- Cybersecurity Metrics: Reporting cybersecurity metrics up to the Board of Directors for increased visibility into the security program and risk identification.
- Disaster and Incident Preparedness: Facilitating regular exercises that keep the business educated and prepared to deal with crisis scenarios.
- Security Defenses: Taking a defense-in-depth approach to security that emphasizes layered controls that are well orchestrated.

Marketing and Strategic Planning
Cheryl Dutton joined Altra in 2012. Since then, she has built an award-winning, highly skilled team focused on brand awareness, new member acquisition, and community engagement. Expertise includes:
- Strategic Planning: Demonstrated ability to research, develop, and implement strategic plans to facilitate growth and profitability. Expert on leading planning sessions and strategy development. Developed a strategic plan focused on youth membership at Altra. As a result, Altra has lowered its average age to 39.9. The industry average is 47. 23.9% of Altra’s members joined as youth and have higher services per member than those who joined after age 18.
- Brand Strategist: Utilizes a proprietary process to define and develop brand strategy. Aligned Altra’s brand standards and positioning tagline.
- Marketing Plan Development and Budget Allocation
- Multi-Media Strategy: Since implementing the digital marketing strategy at Altra in 2018, sessions on Altra.org are up 44.8%, users are up 49% and pageviews are up 64.4%. Altra attributes its strong mortgage pipeline to digital marketing efforts centered on their mortgage loan originators.
